Fully Licensed.
Centrally Regulated.
Independently Audited.

A banking license is not merely authorization to operate — it is one of the most rigorous authorizations in financial regulation, granted only to institutions that meet the Central Bank's exacting standards for financial soundness, management quality, and customer service. Najem Financial has held Central Bank License UAE-CB-24891 since 1994, and our license has never been subject to enforcement action. As a centrally regulated institution, we operate under comprehensive banking regulations, providing consistent protections to customers across all jurisdictions. Our Central Bank membership and Deposit Protection Scheme coverage complete a framework of regulatory oversight that represents the gold standard of banking accountability. Our licensing status is continuously monitored by our regulatory affairs team with zero lapses in any jurisdiction.

Primary Banking Licenses

The three regulatory authorizations that form the foundation of Najem Financial's operational authority and customer protections.

Banking License

UAE-CB-24891

A banking license from the UAE Central Bank is the most prestigious authorization available to a financial institution. License UAE-CB-24891 was granted to Najem Financial in 1994 following a comprehensive review of our capital structure, management quality, business plan, and customer service commitments. The Central Bank's licensing standards are among the most rigorous in global banking regulation. Our license has never been subject to a formal enforcement action. Annual safety and soundness examinations are conducted by Central Bank supervisors, supplemented by continuous oversight. As a centrally regulated institution, we offer consistent products and services under comprehensive banking regulations. This provides significant customer benefits: uniform disclosure requirements, consistent product terms, and the same regulatory protections across all jurisdictions. Our license allows us to serve customers internationally under our regulatory framework.

Central Bank Membership

Member since 1994

Najem Financial's Central Bank membership confers both responsibilities and privileges that are central to our operations. As a member bank, we are required to maintain reserve balances at the Central Bank in accordance with regulatory requirements, and we have access to the Central Bank's payment infrastructure — including real-time gross settlement systems (same-day large-value transfers), securities settlement services, and automated clearing house networks. This payment infrastructure access enables us to process billions in customer transactions daily with finality and security. Central Bank membership also provides access to emergency liquidity facilities — a lender-of-last-resort resource that, while rarely utilized, serves as a critical backstop. Our membership subjects us to supervisory oversight on matters of systemic risk, capital planning, and stress testing. The Central Bank's annual stress testing process evaluates our capital resilience under hypothetical severely adverse economic scenarios, providing an independent assessment of our financial durability that reinforces customer and counterparty confidence in our stability.

Deposit Protection Scheme

DPS-58234

Every eligible deposit at Najem Financial is protected by the Deposit Protection Scheme up to $250,000 per depositor, per ownership category. Certificate DPS-58234 has been active and in good standing continuously since our founding. The deposit protection mechanics cover standard deposit accounts — checking, savings, money market deposit accounts, and certificates of deposit. Coverage limits apply separately to each recognized ownership category: individual accounts, joint accounts, retirement accounts, revocable trust accounts, and certain employee benefit plan accounts can each qualify for separate coverage, allowing well-organized depositors to ensure substantially higher effective protection. In the event of a bank failure — an event we believe to be extraordinarily remote given our capital strength and regulatory standing — protected deposits would be made available to depositors either through a transfer to an acquiring institution or through direct payment from the Deposit Protection Fund, typically within one to two business days. The deposit protection authority ensures that depositors do not experience loss of access to protected funds even in extreme scenarios. We maintain an up-to-date resolution plan that ensures orderly wind-down.

International Licensing Framework

Najem Financial's banking license provides comprehensive authorization for international operations. We maintain active licenses and registrations in all jurisdictions where we operate branches or conduct regulated activities. This multi-jurisdictional compliance posture ensures we are fully authorized under both our primary license and applicable local regulations in every jurisdiction.

Our regulatory framework allows us to serve customers across multiple markets while maintaining consistent standards. Certain jurisdictions require specific local licenses for particular activities (mortgage lending, investment services, money transmission), and we maintain full compliance with all such requirements. Our licensing team monitors all jurisdictions for regulatory changes, and we renew all active licenses on schedule with zero lapses.

Our UAE primary authorization is maintained with the UAE Central Bank — one of the most respected banking supervisors in the region. The Central Bank conducts comprehensive examinations of our operations, ensuring the highest standards of consumer protection and financial stability.

Independent Verification

We encourage all customers, counterparties, and interested parties to independently verify our licensing status directly through official regulatory databases. The information we publish on this page reflects our current standing, but authoritative confirmation comes from the regulators themselves.

The Central Bank's registry provides comprehensive data on all licensed institutions, including financial data, branch locations, and regulatory history. The licensing portal confirms our banking license status and examination history. The mortgage licensing registry verifies our mortgage lending licenses across all operating jurisdictions.

If you ever receive communications claiming to be from Najem Financial and wish to verify our identity, cross-referencing our publicly registered information with these official databases provides definitive confirmation. This is particularly important in the context of anti-fraud due diligence.

Impersonation Warning

Fraudsters sometimes create fake websites or send communications impersonating licensed banks. Always verify our official website at your browser's address bar and confirm our Deposit Protection Certificate #58234 through official channels.
