How CDs Work

A simple, guaranteed way to grow

1
Choose your term

Pick a term that fits your timeline

Select a CD term between 3 and 36 months. Shorter terms offer more flexibility; longer terms generally have competitive rates. The key: don't lock money you'll need before the term ends.

Make your deposit

Fund with as little as $1,000

Transfer funds from your checking or savings account. The deposit is locked for the term — meaning you can't add more, but you won't see the rate change either. Guaranteed.

Earn guaranteed interest

Your rate never changes — no matter what

Unlike a savings account where rates can fluctuate, your CD rate is fixed from day one. Whether the market goes up or down, your return is guaranteed for the full term.

At maturity, choose your path

Renew, withdraw, or change course

When your CD matures, you have a 10-day grace period to decide: renew into a new CD, move funds to savings, or withdraw. If you do nothing, it auto-renews at the current rate for the same term.
